The BCGS House Cemetery Records are now available for online researchers.
House Cemetery records were compiled by Mr. Leslie F. House who was the first President of BCGS.
The series of records were gathered during the late 1970’s thru the early 1980’s, with help from several others. House Cemetery records are surveys consisting of a large portion of Beaufort County cemeteries and a few in other adjoining counties. The surveys typically show locations of cemeteries and who may be buried in them. These record sets have been beneficial to researchers searching within the county, giving them clues on where to find their ancestors. Local historian Edwin Averette scanned and performed OCR (optical character recognition) on the PDFs so that they can be searched by genealogists.
